The Herndon Regional Wind Ensemble offers local musicians a professional environment to assemble and play for their mutual enjoyment, to provide cultural and educational enrichment for the community through public performances, and to promote further development of musical skills in students and musicians of all ages.

The UVA Wind Ensemble features 52 of the most outstanding brass, woodwind, and percussion players at the University. It is dedicated to excellent performance and diverse repertoire encompassing a wide variety of styles and composers. Membership is determined by audition.

The Concert Band is an eighty- to ninety-member ensemble. Music selections include standard band literature, pop music, and concertos with special guest artists. Members of the band stay involved in making music in a concert ensemble setting while exploring both new literature and old favorites.

The Cavalier Marching Band is the premier marching ensemble at the University of Virginia. The CMB is comprised of over 330 of UVA’s best and brightest student musicians, with representatives from over 80 different majors.
