Web Designer/ Developer

I am working currently as a freelance web designer, developer, and graphic artist. My focus is on creating interactive and engaging web content which is designed to be responsive on all devices. Due to my analysis background, I am skilled at eliciting my clients' needs and translating them to actionable requirements for webpage design.

I can build websites from scratch, implement common CMS solutions such as WordPress and Drupal, or implement eCommerce solutions such as Magento.

For design, I have experience with tools such as Adobe Photoshop & GIMP, Sketch, and Balsamiq for mockups, Adobe Illustrator & Inkscape for scalable graphics and logos, and a Wacom Intuos drawing pad.

For development, I have experience with web programming and markup languages:

HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, and PHP

As well as experience with the most common web frameworks and tools:

CSS Frameworks: Bootstrap, Semantic UI, Materialize CSS, Foundation (currently learning)

Other Tools: Green Sock Animation Platform (JavaScript animation tool), ScrollMagic (browser scroll-based events), NodeJS, Node Package Manager, and Gulp (Build automation)

2016 — present

Business Analyst Team Lead/ Lead Designer, iWorks

At iWorks, I led a team of six coworkers in analysis and design work for a Department of Defense system which manages 120,000 security clearances per year. Primary responsibilities included:

Gathered business requirements and diagrammed business processes through collaboration and interviews with system users

Created system functional design with mock-ups for each defined user story. Tools used include Balsamiq and Adobe Creative Suite

Wrote technical requirements using the 'gherkin' method. Led requirement review meetings with project manager and team leads. Tools used include Atlassian JIRA as the requirement repository

Coached and mentored junior resources in developing analytical skills and abilities for career progression. Wrote career development plans and performed end-of-year reviews for team members

Assisted in writing proposals for business development. Led prototype teams for two proposals

Senior Business Analyst and Support Lead — Client: General Services Administration

Led three junior resources on the support team. Recognized as a key team member, with unparalleled client and system knowledge. Led project team successfully through numerous management transitions.

Gathered requirements, created system design, and helped implement CRM systems for multiple GSA divisions

Design and Implementation Lead — Client: Michigan Economic Development Corporation

Led a pilot network of county-level economic development agencies in an information-sharing web application. Was responsible for the design of the network, as well as its implementation. Work led to a successful pilot, and recommendations for the state-wide rollout were pursued

Design Analyst — Client: Comcast Corporation

Responsible for planning system UI, creating wireframes, and assembling design documentation for a system serving 3000 users. Tools used include Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, and IBM Rational DOORS

Helped lead a system-wide data conversion of 100,000+ records when database design was modernized
